![]() ![]() Whichever you choose, you can’t go wrong – they’re both great guitars from Epiphone!. If you want something that’s more comfortable to play and easier to control, then the Coupe might be better suited to your needs. If you’re looking for a full-size guitar with classic looks and great sound, then the Casino is definitely worth considering. So, what’s the verdict? Both guitars are great instruments in their own right, but there are definitely some differences between them. Like any classic Casino, the Coupe has a hollow body and a pair of P90 single coil pickups. The guitar itself was very light, and extremely resonant. The modern Casino Coupe incorporates the features of the original guitars into a slightly scaled down body, the same dimensions as Gibson's ES-339 models. the frets could have used a fine finishing polish, but the ends were smooth and the neck was a nice, gentle C shape. This gives the Coupe a simpler control layout, which some players prefer. I was playing a Casino Coupe at L&M today and it was really sweet. The Casino has two volume controls and two tone controls (for each pickup), while the Coupe has just one volume control and one tone control (for both pickUPS). However, there is a difference in how they are wired. These are great sounding pickUPS that offer plenty of clarity and punch. When it comes to electronics, both guitars are fitted with Epiphone’s Alnico Classic P90 pickUPS. The nut width is also narrower on the Coupe, which contributes to the comfortable feel. This makes it very comfortable to play, even for those with smaller hands.
